Anyone seen, or got my old Campaign?

Hi all,

Glad to join the group. Sadly I'm not a Mk1 Golf owner at present but have had three Mk1 GTis and a Mk1 Golf LS (my first Golf!) in the past.
My greatest love was my Mk1 Atlas Grey Campaign, reg no. A272 CPN, (VIN 17EW078497). I bought her when she was 5 yrs old on 9th Sept 1988, and she only had a genuine 19,500 miles on the clock. Unfortunately, after 12 happy years I had to very reluctantly sell her due to difficult personal circumstances. She had about 112,000 miles on the clock by then and I sold her to a keen young enthusiast from Hindhead, Surrey on 23rd July 2000. While not in bad shape, she was used as a daily driver and needed some tidying so he was planning to restore her to showroom condition. Sadly, I never heard what happened to her after that.
I was wondering if anyone out there owns her, or knows of her where abouts? I'd love to know she's in good hands and is still going strong. It would be great to see a picture, or even 'in the metal' if somewhere local to me here near East Grinstead, West Sussex.

Can anyone help?

Just a thought mate, have you checked the campaign register to check whether it is still around or dare i say it been scrapped. Worth a try.

Cheers for the updates guys. So she's probably still around somewhere, if off the road.
Checked the Campaign register but couldn't see it listed. I registered it on Drew's old Campaign Register site when it was first setup but I guess that's been incorporated into this one now, yes?
Didn't think to check the DVLA - in fact didn't realise the online service was there - pretty useful.
Any other info on whereabouts would be great if anyone else knows!

Still searching….I guess no one has seen it recently. Maybe it has been scrapped. Will be really sad if it has been

looks like it's still alive but nicely tucked up in a barn or garage somewhere

DVLA are open to polite letters requesting address details of the current keeper, suggest attaching a picture to the letter for proof of your previous ownership. Bearing in mind it's SORN, I think you might get lucky.

Tried that one but DVLA wouldn't give me the info sadly.

So as it's been a while, I'll just try again….anyone seen my old girl??
