Another Golf Cabriolet

Hello Ladies & Gents, I've been meaning to get involved on here for a while but am too stuck into the car itself that I havent until now.

I'm Jon and have always been a softie for the mk1 cabriolet and bit the bullet last September and bought a local one from eBay.
After a short while, I soon stumbled to find it wasn't as expected. Fitted was a non-running 1.8 injection engine and a tonne of underseal - need I say anymore. After a little while of attempting to get the engine going and a little poke round, I decided to let the injection engine go and go carb. Bodywork wise, the underseal was removed to show its true colours. I'll add some photos of how it started and how its coming along. I hope you like it!

Welcome, that looked a tidy car on the trailer apart from the roof, but looks like rot in many of the usual places. Should be great when you have got it done.

Those wheels were unusual, not seen them on a MK1 before, quite like them.

That's exactly why I bought it, it looked tidy but unfortunately someone had done a very good job of covering it up. I'll be keeping the wheels  :P
