1983 MK1 Golf GTI with BBS bodykit

Nice looking original mk1 - looks well with the Bbs kit.

Hi mate did see this car advertised  looked real nice in photos the bbs kit I think was extra if u wanted one but they did but a few off the court yard with them fitted I could be wrong but it look nice

Wow that looks stunning!! Generally I've never been a big fan of the 80's body kits on MK1's but always liked the BBS kit on a black GTI, for some reason the colour just works with the kit. You're lucky there's no rust under it, that's unusual. How many miles are on the car and how many previous owners?

I don't recognise the car, the only BBS kitted MK1 I could remember was on here some years back - I think the owner was called Bob? Here's a pic of him with it at our first ever annual meet in 2004!



If I remember correctly he had owned this one from new?

Anyway, look forward to seeing a few more pics of yours - enjoy it!

Yeah I think a lot of BBS kitted cars had the wheels too. I think they're 14 inch RA's not 15's

I should know this… As I brought the car off him in 2005.

This was it at the 20 years of gti international, parked next to Rajans cabby, I didn't know raj at this point. 



Car broke my heart as I took it apart to do some resto and discovered it was absolutely rotten.

Oh yeah I remember now! I did recall him (I'm sure it was Bob?) saying he was leaving the club - had forgotten he sold up too!

Gutting it was rotten as it looked so tidy on the outside. What happened in the end with it?

I stripped it and the rolling shell went to a company called 99 cars in hemal Hempstead. They were restoring a mk1 for a guy and most of it was rotted, they used my one to work out what went where lol. It's prob scrapped ages ago now tho.
