That means there will be loads n loads n loads of traffic on A43..
Great, back to route planning then

I had exactly the same thought on Page 4 on this thread. Doesn't harm to remind again though.

The A43 is closed to through traffic on race day.

I live in Banbury and will take the A361 to Daventry then A45 to Northampton instead.

If you are coming up the M40 then I would consider getting off at the Banbury junction and doing the same though I suspect the M40 maybe busy as well.

The Banbury Junction is less than 20 minutes from the A43 junction on the M40 and from there it is 10 mins longer to go via Daventry than if you were to go via Silverstone so I would consider adding another 1/2 hour to the journey time. Still no gurantee that it's not going to be busy though.

nope not gonna be able to make this one gutted!! cant afford to go down was well lookin forward to beatin my times gettin well into the 14's! nevermind saves breakin my car this time!

bit of bad news

got up this morning, and i checked if i had mot for some reason, and it run out 2 days ago, so told my brother to take it to work and mot it,AND it has failed,    need some welding under car and sills need some work, and the work cant be done until next week.

so the mk1 wont be able to come tomorrow, il be in the audi.

it wont be the same now :?  :cry:  :cry:  :cry:  :cry:  :cry:  :cry:

can i hide my audi behind all the mk1's

I've been busy, last night I went on a mission into deepest parts of Wales and picked up a complete silver/black stripe set of seats from 'E' real name Ian, had a good natter with him too, very pleased to meet another friendly face from the forum  :wink: . Today I replaced the drivers seat (will replace the others once I've given them a clean up) then ripped the dashboard out and replaced it with a good un and the drivers side mirror too   , then finally attached the new parcel shelf to the rear seat.

So in the morning it'll be getting a wash and down to the pod, hopefully the weather will be better down there, see you tomorrow  :pray:  :pray:

Wet and windy but no wild.

Unfortunately the early morning rain put alot of people off although the stand was well turned out.

If only all the people who left in the rain had stayed they missed the sun at 2 o'clock, and apparently the mankini  8O

shame about the weather and that Grand Prix (yawn zzzzz) thing being on, and the weather, but never judge a day by its weather.

Eventually the sun came out, and the monkeys were happy as the roof came down.

Thanks to Asnr for the pop and Warren for the help with drinks.

Must make a wind deflector for the camp stoves.

Think sam may be converted to floppy driving now, as the roof being down is so much more fun.

Cheers Nath! The mankini would have been the highlight for us but it was just pipped by the jet car run and and an unexpected win in the Show 'n' Shine "Best stock Mk1 Golf" :dance:
