Don't fancy OEM management??

I bought an earlier version from this guy about 6 years ago for an old Land Rover I squirted. He was involved in some of the original coding and was very helpful when I was having issues with my wide band sensor and my PWM Idle Valve. (Yes there are lots of acronyms to learn!)
It was still pretty new back then and you had to understand it well before taking the plunge as it was up to you to sort it.
Maybe they are more turnkey now with more of the issues ironed out.

BTW I've still got the Landy although its been stood idle in the yard for the last 3 years. However I did put a battery on it the other day and it fired up straight away!

Tbh mate I'm not too sure which way to go. I'm a complete novice with this stuff. You're keeping OEM ECU aren't you? how did you go about that with no clocks or anything?

I'm getting ms11 from
Phil at efi, he's been a massive help via email for my needs, comes pre built ecu and a pigtail loom labelled up and he will pre map the ecu to get you going. That's the route I'm going anyway buddy.

im using megasquirt due to i wanted to map the car myself. build it map it all  at home. and ive achived that. if you thinking of mapping yourself with a wideband then megasquirt is very good at that. but if you thinking because its cheap and you save your self money just go oem from the start. if anybody is going megasquirt let me know if you need some base maps to get you running and driving

that kit you have to build yourself. and trust me there about loads you need to solder in. if you getting one get a prebuilt ecu unless you wanna build it :lol:like this prebuilt MegaSquirt-I EFI System - SMD PCB3.57 w/ Black Case.

I did think that megasquirt was going to be the cheapest option which is why I was going to go with it but after talking with Smudger, I think I'll be going OEM. There's a guy who lives close to me who can help me out with De-immob and wiring etc so think that's the way to go

Cheers for your help Peter, much appreciated
