grey/white and yellow plus the green from immob go into the diagnostics jumper block above the fusebox, or you could just splice the grey/white straight to the green if you prefer.
the red and brown are probably live and earth for the diagnostics port, if so tap them into the ciggy lighter or wherever is easy

do I even have a jumper?
I guess its easiest to splice the grey/white into the green.. what about the yellow then though? esp if I don't have the jumper block?
cheers

so my diagnostics port already has 4 cables into it, brown and red which are coming from fusebox so that's the power side of it, then the grey/white and the yellow go to the plug brown plug in first picture, the red plug in first picture is connected to bugga all so can come out as the post already has its power..
that just leaves the green from immob to connect to the port, and yellow and grey/white to go?

right then, tried firing it up last night, turned over but didn't start,
few issues which I think is down to the fuel pump relay as the fuel pump just keeps priming with ignition on, I may of missed something though, the fuel pump is being powered off a gti loom, should this be correct or should I of done something else?
cheers

hmm, if its always on with the ignition that would suggest pin d/13 is earthed somewhere, can you trace it back to the ecu checking for damage>?

just to clarify im using the original abf coil if that makes a difference?
managed to sort the fuel pump priming, not sure how but it stops as it should though, still wont start though, the idle control valve seems to be crackling, think that's whats blowing fuse 17?

Think it's best to use a mk2 coil with the mk1 tci unit. Igot one from a scrappy. Make sure the mk2 coil has the pin that fits the abf leads!
I'll try and pop up Saturday.

mk3 coils are unreliable so ideally convert it back to the mk1/2 electronic ignition coil with tci unit, you'll need the tci loom from a mk1/2 though.
fuse 17 is an ignition live feed so its possible its feedign the coil, if so check the wiring behind the engine to the tps and idle switch it gets baked by the exhaust and cracks up. you'll note there is another 2 pin plug with a black and brown wire, this is for the breather heater and is on the same feed as the isv so if it shorts out it'll kill the isv fuse. you can just chop all the wiring out for it as its unused in the uk.
