1.8T Conversion Guide
I'v jst got my AEB engine trile mounted, I have used mk1 big block mounts all the way round, the cambelt one does just bolt in place, there's a plastic timing belt cover section you need to thin down so mount fit's snug. The automatic tensioner needs to be changed, i found that the 16v item pulled the belt out a tooth so jst used the wheel off the one i took off..
The engines are the same to my knowlage in that there both 1.8t's and big port and would guess the internals are the same..??
The only thing's i'v found to be changed to transverse so far are both manifolds and the turbo.(still not certain on the exhaust manifold tho).
Thanx Shaun

AEB engine uses the normal big block mk1 engine mount, parts that need changing as far as i could gather, inlet/exhaust manifolds, oil filter assy, and sump i think.

Good call abfmk1.. i forgot about the sump "06A-103-601T is the sump, 06A-115-251G is the shorter oil pick up pipe, 06A-145-73AB is the shorter oil return pipe from the turbo." some info i found a while back, the oil filter assy is new news to me tho.. thanx for the heads up

k-jet fuel pump one of the very best, good enough for pretty much anything you decide to throw at it. fuel lines whatever fits with the right diameter. you can use oem mk1 lines if you like, crazyquiff does special lines for digi fuel injection i think, though you might have to phone up to order them

dont use plastic pipes with a k-jet pump dont think it would be good with all that pressure

nah it'll be fine if you use it on EFI, the k-jet pump is only at full pressure when used with k-jet. with EFI it ony runs at whatever pressure the FPR sets it at, 2.5bar on a digi/g60 mk2, and whatever bar the 1.8t is set at, 3bar?

So the plastic fuel lines just push onto the barb, should you heat it to make it shrink or use a jubilee clip, or am I missing a trick here?
Do they just push on to the fuel rail as well? Use a jubilee clip or something else?

no you need a rubber hose between the plastic pipe and the barb, the plastic pipe at the end will have a brass insert to stop it collapsing when you tighten down the hose clamp as well.
you'll see what i mean when you look at the ends of the plastic hoses
