And have you noticed the amazing amount of stuff you can cram into the glovebox and still get the lid closed? Spooky!

Seconded, that could be a whole new topic, "what do you have in yours"

fitted a tent

2 folding chairs

a suitcase

a holdall

and a box of bits including jump leads and torque wrench

with four of us in the car

the car still did 105! and for a 1.5 gl couldnt believe it

brilliant car!

This was my best effort at overloading a cabby boot (this is my post from the Gaydon 06 thread)

  Don't knock the MK1 boot!

I went camping in Norfolk with my friend and 2 kids. We took;

2 dome tents
4 sleeping bags
2 double airbeds
bags of clothes & towels
footballs & frisbees and stuff
Crab lines, buckets and bacon
2 small polystyrene body boards
Bottles of wine
A bottle of Pimms
A puppy

AND I bought a batik picture roughly 3ft x 2ft
AND we stopped at a nursery and bought some plants on the way back!!!
And I got flashed by a speed camera with the roof down and the picture sticking up off the back seat behind the kids!!!!

(I must admit it was a bit tight!!!)

I think the best was another trip to Norfolk when we had filled my friend's cabby boot up with plants and then she got a flat tyre.

We stopped to change it (obviously!) and an old Norfolk farmer came to help and just stood looking at us like we were very slightly mad as we unloaded all the plants out of the boot………….then he saw the dolly wheel!!!

how very true, stay cool and slow around big cars and when it comes to plastic corsas with bigger sound sysmtems than penis's and engines leave them standing!!!!        got to be done!

When people know what the golf mk1 is all about and they still try and beat you in there more modern cars and you still just prove they haven't got what it takes.
