Why has no one bought this???

I have to say I agree with all that, but having been searching for a few months and people asking silly money, I though it was the norm!
I'd be happy to pay ?1500 to get something with an MOT and some tax and enjoy it before I find any big holes in the chassis.

It's the body that worries me most as i am not experienced in this area. Engines & the mechanicals are easy, but body work is not my thing.

The search continues.
I have a budget which I intend to stick to and this thread has shown me that it's not unreasonable and I'm not expecting something for nothing - as the sellers would have me believe.

Just stick with it mate, soon be spring, theres plenty of nice clean standard cars about, you just need to grab one when it comes up for sale!!!

Yeah, good plan mate..
I wanted one and true to me, just went out n got one, not as good as i first hoped, loads of littley niggly things to sort out, buts solid enough under the surface rust   and the engine pulls well..
wish i had looked at a few more tho and found a better one.. Oh well, I've got it now tho
