whos is now off the road for winter?

You could say why use it in the winter bla bla bla but if we took that mantra all the time we would never use em!

I own a black non sunroof Tintop and it gets bloody hot in the summer, ill still rock it.

Theres lots of leaves on the road in Autumn, its slippy and unpredictable, drive with a bit more care. ill still rock it in Autumn

The winter brings ice and rain and cold, Ive got heaters.  Ill still rock it

Spring! the best time for my car and ill deffo still be in it then

Its the only way people!

I used mine through the winter last year but Im hopefully getting the more door I just bought on the road for this winter! Just needs MOT'd and insured :banghead:

I might keep the s1 off the road all of next year to get it looking immaculate again. Would love to have it ready for the summer though! Hoping to fit new seats in it and exhaust while its off the road and get the more door cleaned up a bit as I go along

In the garage , SORNed.Only take it to shows and days out if the weathers good.
Im fortunate to have 3 other motors inc. camper so don`t need to drive it during the winter.
People may say "oh, its meant to be driven, not just in summer"etc, but if you`ve spent a lot of coin getting it just right I don`t see why you`d want to drive it in crappy weather, especially when they`re prone to rusting…
Look what happened to YRADaves car last winter, it slid into a lamppost, and there`s no accounting for that.

I've got three cars in the family and bikes plus my Cabby got hit last winter too, thart's life! It's not driven because I have no choice, it's driven as my car of choice, besides it's a car that's designed to be driven.

Wouldn't mind a hatchback for winter though, might just buy myself one.

Delilah comes off the road on Wednesday, so have the next few days to enjoy her and the sun, hopefully. Then its back to my loyal winter girl Matilda (Mk2).
Delilah is having a brake conversion and a respray over the winter, so she'll be sparkling and able to stop for April.

As mine is my only car to get to work I use it all year round. Besides, the engine is all the better for regular use, I don't think it would appreciate sitting dormant for months. I love driving it in snow, it makes everyone else look stupid, it can get up a snowy hill from a dead stop while they're still wheel-spinning at the bottom   I'm not so keen on ice, but even then it does fine. Worst bit's de-icing the windows early in the morning, but I've got a garage now…wooohooo!!!!

I totally identify with the owners with mint GTI's storing them over winter though. I'd be tempted to do the same if I had one…just saying how it is with the old beast I've got.

Mine normally goes away at the end of September when the tax is up and I have already filled the SORN in ready for posting. However I just can't bring myself to put it away on Wednesday so will maybe tax it and at least take October out of it.

Is it more cost effective to tax for 6 or 12 months when you know the disc will be surrendered after a month or 2?
