Wheels poking out arches.

ok, ok i know that they arnt fast enough to take two at a time or near enough as me and my friend were following a car through some at 40 and it flashed then we saw a sign saying 30 and the car in front got 3 points and he didnt.

So theres ways.

And i would risk it as if id driven up the road 5 misn before and it didnt have a lense in, no ones going to have put one in with in minuits, i might check the next day though jsut to be carfull.

Basically 30 zones that shouldnt be 30 do my head in, there like 40 roads with say the first set of cameras are 30 and the next (4 meeters down the road are 40)

And tbh, for others that annoye me:D

Also

Thats fully nice on them wheels

As I see it, the obvious way to avoid being done by a speed camera is to slow down as you pass it - its not hard, they're painted bright yellow, after all!

I'm not too bothered about mods to wheels, tyres and suspension but I'd have thought the main purpose behind it is to make the car handle better. This might (will probably) involve compromising the ride comfort a bit - without clever stuff like electronic dampers, variable ride height etc. But when you modify only for looks and it handles worse, or is dangerous, then I can't really see the point. Basically, for me there must be some underlying reason for the mods over & above looks alone.

As far as the original design goes, you'll probably find that a lot of people here think they more/less got it right!

 ………fultimementalist, instead of trying devise ways to break the law and win…..they have all been tried before, trust me….maybe try and chanel your mind into something constructive……….

by your own admission you are a bit hot headed, and in your post about the accident you blamed everyone else, the police, the other driver, the court, but never accepted any of the blame yourself, do you not accept it could have been down to you and a poor piece of judgement on your part? and as you were found guilty, and treated the penalty as though it was harsh? you did it…… you paid…… end of

The only places speed cameras are put is usually where there is potential for people to try and do silly speeds, or where at least 4 fatal or serious accidents have happened, by the virtue of you ignoring these you are being totally reckless in my opinion.

clever people use judgement and common sense on the roads, others are just reckless and deserve the penalties

I dont argue, i debate and im usually polite and give reasons and examples so what am i doing which is so wrong that you have to be so petty about?

Plus about the owning a mk1 situation, i will do in less than like less than 2 weeks and its only due to funds and the fact that all the people in your time have messed all the mk1s that are in decent conditon up so ive now had to wait ages to find one.

wasnt having a dig mate just pointing out a small lack of a mk1

my generation havnt messed all the mk1s up tbh quite the opposite seem to remember a thread oldies vs the youngsters hmm wonder whos got the vote count

Just cus im 19 you guess i have no brain, dont be so silly really.

I love drivign, so id rather do it at a speed thats at least acceptable but the speed limits on some roads are stupid.

My roads got a 30 bit and a 40 bit, its drivable at 70, all of it thats not even using both sides of the road.

i can see reason for my road being like a 40-50 zone as theres houses on it which may cause problems to pedestrians ie kids.

but some roads are like 30 roads on main road, or roads that you could at least go down at like 120 mph?

So i see no reason for this, other than the fact some mug went and killed himself on that road, on at least 4 occasions.

I can see were your coming from but its just gutted for everyone else

And im merly trying to make my life easier cus all though all you need to do is break a little< how much easier would it be to not break at all cus of some bright yellow box

also toto could you confirm the lense bit about the speed ccameras as ive heard if you dont see one then it wont be able to catch you

Im not some bods who jsut wants to break laws its just the laws are so interfering

and the hydrolic thing with a bit of metal that scraped ont he floor and made sparks would be illegal i guess?

If your doing these kind of speeds on these kind of roads then you shouldnt have a car, let alone a license…

there's a time and a place for speeding, if you want to break the law and speed, (me included) then do it on country roads, big A roads or motorways, not in built up areas, houses with streets have kids, kids cant judge speed..
I'm no angel, had my fair share of points from speeding, mainly on motorbikes, I'll take the car out and boot it, get my foot down, but only where the roads are appropriate..

Easy answer to not getting a ticket in built up areas or from speed cameras..
dont speed!!!

ok go stop at 120mph when a child runs out infront of you. or a tyre blows.

you can drive fast down any road but i does not mean its safe.

if there are houses on the side of the road there are also drives or park cars on the side of the road with someone who will reverse out or pull away if you are doing 60mph chances are that they have looked both ways and nothing is there then they begin to reverse out only to find that someone has come down the road. geuss whos fault this crash would be and its not the person reversing.
stopping distace at 40mph is twice that at 30 why do you think its 30 ?

being a biker you'll know "twist of the wrist" which sez "time and place for riding fast"

that time is not in a built up area nor is it in low visabilty or poor road conditions.

As i said, if you read properly instead of jsut thinking im a problem..

I said you could do these speeds which means i may or may not have done them, plus this wouldnt be on a road with houses on etc, as i explainted about my own road and other roads with houses on.

So read properly as were i say main road kinda roads which is going to be like basically a motorway etc.

And i know fact if you own a mk1 you will have tried these speeds, even toto dont bother trying to be all inocent n that.

And as i said "So i see no reason for this, other than the fact some mug went and killed himself on that road, on at least 4 occasions."

Meaning im not one of those mugs but i do like my speed.

And your 'oldies' so you know speed cameras are annoying.

I like the way you all parrot yourself.

Are you still in your probationary period with your driving licence (ie 6 points and you're back to provisional)? And…you have 3 points already?

There's one good reason not to speed…

uunless you meant the 70 bit?

And id be happy to say ive done 70 down there.

Its not even unsafe and itd be at a time all your kids would be in bed and you police are off smoking all the kids buds youve took off them.

for you to know that these speeds are possible you must have tried them. unless it's speculation then you will find you are very much mistaken.

any main road into a town will have the posibility of children on the road either on bikes or walking. duel carriage ways tend to be by-pass roads which run though housing.

a motorway is a 6 laned highway which is segregated from towns by either a barrier or embanked verges to make it hard for someone to strole onto. there have recently been 2 major incidents involving excess speed on a motorway and pedestrians so even there it may not be safe.

listen to the people with more experience mate or you will be a statistic same as many other young drivers.

i got 3 points for a bald tyre so i did nothing wrong there other than not have enough money to buy a new tyre, probably for the fact my insurace was so high.

And i have to say i want a bike but i think i would kill myself…

I have to say i do say i have a bit of experiense even though its not 26 years.

I did drive my car evryday all day for the time i had it, plus i drive mates cars etc when i can (Not on the road)

And i do most of my speeding in country lanes, its just better plus its more like a rally.

ahaha.

Hi, just wondering if your agrreing with what I'm saying, just the way you worded it sounds like you dont and spining it onto me..

But I've been riding for around 10 years, a lot of it on the track and a lot of it round the M25 in rush hour, so if you go on years, then a lot of people will say i do about 3k miles average on a bike in a year, for 3 years i was averaging over 20k on the bike, plus track days on the sports bikes and european trips etc
so in answer, I've loads of bike experience, which is why I've now hung up my leathers (well on the road anyway, will still do track days when i can) mainly because of people like this guy
they speed in the wrong places, knock people off bikes etc etc dont have a clue about about observations and awareness etc

As to cars, i've been driving legally for 13 years (since i passed my test) most experience was gained driving my mates dads cars on his farm growing up, that gave good experience, done a few track days and rally days to gain experience.. But always on private roads

Now I'm married and turned 30 I've slowed down, but will never loose the repect for the road

if your going to speed do it in places where your only putting yourself at danger..

no mate totally agree with you just wondering thats all. trying to make a point about experience to our 19 year friend here.

done alot of off road riding and track riding which gives you a great deal of respect for riding on the road as you relise how bad the roads are.

we don't ask about my experience before i got my license  8O
