Moving house is hard work when you drive a mk1 and the mrs drives a Z3! Mk1 cabby + Z3 = no boot room

I've just moved house well gone to uni so taken all my possessions in my mk1, that includeds all stuff like tv, computer, stereo and clothes. didnt take any pictures but was pretty full up haha. Abit of scrubbing on the way down with all tht weight and it being slammed but it made the 200 mile drive fully loaded :)

Over the years, mine has been used to cart a fair bit around:

Regularly used to carry two BMX's about (Mine and a mate) - Handle bars make nice holes in the roof lining  :redfaced:
Absolutely filled the back (Seats removed) with conifer branches while gardening - ten full trips to the dump! Lots to clean up afterwards   This was when it was mint as per my sig too - Lots of odd looks at the local recycling centre!
Rather than see them scrapped, I fitted two Mk1 doors, a Mk1 tailgate and a Mk1 front wing in the back. Doesn't sound much, but awkward shapes when together!

Probably many more examples that I can't recall too…
Looking back, no wonder it doesn't look like that anymore!  :banghead:

you can fit a  full size sheet of plasterboard in/on a cabby. Hooked in on the roof handles when its down, it makes a perfect roof!

That is Drew Wagars car…

Didn't Drew used to run this site when it was "The Campaign Register" - That was quite some time ago and my memory isn't the best!

That indeed was Drew's Car the Legend.

He doesn't come that often to the site and doesn't own that car any more.
The car is owned by a fellow member on this site.

Well i'm just about to move house and we had to get a washing machine for our new house. My wife drives a Z3 and there was defo no room for one in that!

So I had to use the Rivage.

Back seats out and a bit of argy bargy and hey presto!

So, what have you had in yours?
thats what i call a car wash

Oh I miss my old lovely blue Rivage seats (and car) when I see photos like that. I've had my whole life packed up in my old Golf and plenty of snowboards and skis constantly in winter. Lots of tyres…once had a bike poking out with the roof down…very handy!
