Smoked South African Rears - Can they be ordered from VW UK??? If not where can I get some!!

Ah pants luck mate. Were they sent insured? Is there any comeback from Royal mail?

If a load could be shipped over from a SA contact I would definately be interested in getting a pair.

Joe90k  that's my car in the opening postThe lights are genuine came in vw boxes and  are  made by hella . I kept the numbers from the boxes which are

996945111  and 996945112.

When I looked into it they were also  available as a pattern part.

these are definately the correct part numbers, the same as on my boxes too..

have checked at work, and whilst they are on the ETKA lookup they are not recognised by the vw uk computer so i cannot order them in .. grrrrrr.

however someone who works at my place is south african so………………. have asked if there is anyone he know over there who may be able to help…

can anyone make out a number beginning with E then some numbers on each lens please? I might have lead on a batch...

Hi mates, please make sure the smoke lights are Hella . I have a set of Hella and it is the original vw rear lights.

Are you able to see if they are still available from VW? I guess you are in SA.

hi Zee1, can you see numbers on the lenses next to the E marking?

I'd be interested in a set of these if anyone ever finds a supplier or someone willing to send over a pallet full of them

0053319r38 this number is the same both sides.

Hi mates, im sitting in SA now and want to help every one on the site to get mk1 parts. I can get original second hand VW spares. remember that you get the small rear tail lights and bigger ones. We only have bigger ones in South Africa. The L shape smoke and round lights wich will fit on the 1983 mk1s .same size just diffirent style.

Can you get the lights in the picture in the first post?

In the forums tab go to post your fav pic, go to the last page, please see the mk1, I have posted . check the tailgate, front doors,fenders with indicators, round tail lights.

Zee mate is there a vw dealer near you, you could take the part numbers listed above to and see if they can get them

If they are the same is in the first post of this thread mate how do I go about getting a set shipped over to the UK? Can we organise a group buy or something??
