Hey Bert, I grew up in Johannesburg and I owned a white 1990 Citi Golf Designa (looked like the CTI).  Great to see a good looking "South African" car  .  Great … now I am homesick all over again now     .

You could buy the side protection moulding for the Mk1 too, can't remember the supplier. My GX had it, you can just make it out in the pic

It is an mk1 trim, i bought the car with this trim and I liked it, so left it on.
