I honestly think it costs more and takes more effort to keep a car standard, than do mild modifications on it. Note how many of the mods available off the shelf are to replace components which wear out - suspension, exhaust, etc.
I can vouch for that! Just payed out for a full set of genuine VW rubbers for under my car. A LOT of hastle tracking them down and not particularly cheap either. But IMHO worth every penny for genuine parts.

Ilove looking at the modded cars at shows and am amazed at the skill and imagination involved,though they seem to date quickly as the `scene` changes.
Having said that I wouldn`t mind owning a car like Paulc`s or benscab`s and flying up(or down)the strip at Santa Pod :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I love unique cars and as I am the owner of the pink car I feel that the colour can add to and not take away from a car.
