Looks like August will be the month that all the bits I have been gathering for mine will get fitted !!

Will be interesting to see how a 16vG60 compares to a 1.8T :-))

Cheers,
Ade

I should be moving on up a little more soon…    more power and less wieght too

would it also be a good idea to have a bit of extra info the table? like the engine, power and mods? so we have some idea whats what? might make it a bit more cluttered but would give an idea what mods give what gains

1/4 mile times

Right, went to Bugjam 23 and got on the track on saturday which had been dried but was not very sticky and covered in debris from all the dirty cars!
Best out of 6 runs was 13.51 @104.71mph, also a 14sec run finished with 123.58mph!!???(I did have to go into 5th on a couple of runs).

Not much traction, 2nd gear starts still did'nt control the spins, spinning in 3rd & even 4th at times!
It was the 1st time up the pod in the golf but i hope that a sticky track, toyo 888's and getting my ATB diff fitted will trim the time down  , but I had a right blast and Im well happy with the results, I' like to mention nick82 who done the conversion, nice one mate  .

Black tintop 20vt megasquirt 224bhp/240ftlbs, mk2 8v box, 195/50/15 F1's up front

does make me wonder how fast mine would be if the engine was in a tintop being a cabby it must slow it down a bit ?

Doesn't help the driver being a bit gay too.

oooo thats harsh

does it being a softop make a aerodynamic difference tho??

Only joking, I'm sure you're driving it like you've nicked it, which is of course the correct way to. I think its more down to the weight than aerodynamics, they don't really become significant below 80-90 mph.

hmm not sure i can shed any more weight of the car unless i remove the hood and glass lol then id need arm straps which would be an arse to fit

i did 1 run at volksfest today and all things considered it wasnt bad 14.9 slower than my pb but with full creature comforts in the car including rear seats

also had a water leak which was missed by the scrutineers and my oil seal in the turbo is fried      so not bad for its last outing before the rebuild

roll on vw action should have it all sorted and on the rolling road in the next 3 weeks in prep for a 13 second run at the pod

Any more info on the car? Will be good to see what it can do once you get a chance to run it!
