hi,just thought i would say that rob is a genuine guy,hes got a porsche, yes,a 1982 924 with a similar lump to the mk1 gti,hes not rolling in cash, hes just a car nut like us and said he could help us get there, and the profit he will make is tiny really,he just does it for the thrill of the ring,

Wasnt having a dig at rob Bert, see last thread, he's a pro at it and knows what he's doing, I was just pointing out that it was getting expensive..
Convincing the missus she cant have a week on a beach because i want to go see the ring with a load of other petrol heads in MK1's was hard enough at ?450, let alone the extra…

Not having a go so don't take this the wrong way but no one is going to get you 3 extra nights in a hotel for up to 3 people a night for ?50!!! that would be about ?5.50 per person per night!! you would be lucky to get just the breakfast for that.
and as for speeds the support car will obay all speed limits and not 1 mile an hour above it!!! so 70mph in the uk and 80mph in Euroupe. if that helps.

you can also check my sites
www.nurburgringers.net (check dates page and you will see that the normal price for the weekend you are going is ?499) i've already knocked ?50 off for early booking.
www.porscheball.com and
www.pbcmotorsport.co.uk
You can also check out our trips in this months Practical Performance Car Mag as it as a 6 page story on 2007's Porscheball event to the nurburgring which is one of our events.
And please remember our prices are per car with up to 3 people most other charge per person.
i've said before you can do it cheaper yourselfs but arranging a trip to Germany is not as simple as you may think there is plenty of red tape involved and can be a minefield if you do not know what you are doing.

rob, wasnt having a dig mate, like i said earlier, your a pro at this and know what you are doing, i was just merely pointing out that it was getting expensive. Fair do's om the Porsche bit then, my apologies there
I said earlier that if loads are going then the organisation would be immense, hence the price, but I'm sure if its a couple of cars going and they do their own thing then it'd be cheaper.
I can manage to scrape up ?450 for me n the missus for a trip, but adding an additional ?250 plus the extra petrol/spending money etc would just cost too much..
sorry if my posts were blunt, but wanted to make speople see it was fast becoming an expensive trip.

I think because of logistics and price you should drop the Factory trip and save it for another day. i was asked for the price so i got one for you but it makes life for me hard aswell as we will be going back to the ring again on the sat, so we would get home friday night then stright back sat am!!! Please also remember going at the end of july is in the school summer hols which pushs all price up from ferry's to hotels. also at the min the exchange rate is 1.28 which does not help prices last year it was 1.44 so was about 12% cheaper to travel in europe it makes a big diff!!!
I agree there mate, justa trip to the ring would be excellent, has there been many confirmed yet?

You can do it for as little a ?300 or as expensive as you want really.
Only thing really is spare tyres, and maybe a couple of on call engineers to maintain any glitches on any cars.
Be good to do it late August.

Date: Saturday July 26th (daytime ferry) - Tuesday July 29th (but see below)
Cost: ?450 per car (1, 2 or 3 people per car)
This includes ferry and accommodation but not Nurburgring track charges or specialist insurance for the track. More importantly, it includes a support car with plenty of tools and spares, so we should be able to sort out any breakdowns or issues along the way.
For this special deal price, we'd need a minimum of 5 people. In order to book the ferry early enough for a discount, etc he'd need ?150 deposit by end February. The balance would need to be paid 6 weeks before the trip, ie 1st week of June. He'll be able to accommodate latecomers up until around end April, but this would miss out on the ferry deal and be approx ?499.
