Nurburgring trip 08 Mk1oc

hi,just thought i would say that rob is a genuine guy,hes got a porsche,yes,a 1982 924 with a similar lump to the mk1 gti,hes not rolling in cash,hes just a car nut like us and said he could help us get there,and the profit he will make is tiny really,he just does it for the thrill of the ring, :wink:
And a run at 70 mph ish would be nice,i will be on cooking oil so i will provide the hunger smells  :?

Wasnt having a dig at rob Bert, see last thread, he's a pro at it and knows what he's doing, I was just pointing out that it was getting expensive..
Convincing the missus she cant have a week on a beach because i want to go see the ring with a load of other petrol heads in MK1's was hard enough at ?450, let alone the extra…

No mate,just saying,my typing is blunt,  i dont think i can go to the factory either,too long away from mrs and kid,will get a round if i go that long,i fancy the ring,but fancy the factory just as much,maybe 2 seperate trips?

I know what your saying there mate.. Maybe the ring this year, factory next, think i can twist the missus arm for the ring, but doubt she'll be excited about the factory

If it was only say another ?50 for the factory trip, I'd be jumping up n down and shouting at the missus to get her purse open as a trip like that with a load of other MK1's would be great…

 Not having a go so don't take this the wrong way but no one is going to get you 3 extra nights in a hotel for up to 3 people a night for ?50!!! that would be about ?5.50 per person per night!! you would be lucky to get just the breakfast for that.

and as for speeds the support car will obay all speed limits and not 1 mile an hour above it!!! so 70mph in the uk and 80mph in Euroupe. if that helps.

And by the way i paid ?200 for my Porsche i wish i was rolling in it. if you want to check other companys prices feel free, you can start with these.

i've said before you can do it cheaper yourselfs but arranging a trip to Germany is not as simple as you may think there is plenty of red tape involved and can be a minefield if you do not know what you are doing.

I said earlier that if loads are going then the organisation would be immense, hence the price, but I'm sure if its a couple of cars going and they do their own thing then it'd be cheaper.

I can manage to scrape up ?450 for me n the missus for a trip, but adding an additional ?250 plus the extra petrol/spending money etc would just cost too much..

I think because of logistics and price you should drop the Factory trip and save it for another day. i was asked for the price so i got one for you but it makes life for me hard aswell as we will be going back to the ring again on the sat, so we would get home friday night then stright back sat am!!! Please also remember going at the end of july is in the school summer hols which pushs all price up from ferry's to hotels. also at the min the exchange rate is 1.28 which does not help prices last year it was 1.44 so was about 12% cheaper to travel in europe it makes a big diff!!!

You can do it for as little a ?300 or as expensive as you want really.
Only thing really is spare tyres, and maybe a couple of on call engineers to maintain any glitches on any cars.

Be good to do it late August.

OK Guys i need to know whats going on. at first you were coming with us then you were going to get quotes from others, i have made space for you on the dates we agreed but i need to know if this trip is going to happen as i will need to alocate the spaces to others if you are not coming with us. Hope you understand that i need to know as it seams all up in the air at the min! Rob.

For this special deal price, we'd need a minimum of 5 people. In order to book the ferry early enough for a discount, etc he'd need ?150 deposit by end February. The balance would need to be paid 6 weeks before the trip, ie 1st week of June. He'll be able to accommodate latecomers up until around end April, but this would miss out on the ferry deal and be approx ?499.

We are going on june 25,there will be an army of us.There was 18 of us last year but there should be easily 20 or more this year.If anyone is seriously intrested in going with us get in touch and i can give details of our plans!

No prob's just need to know. the thread seams to have got a little confusing.

I'm still on the maybe pile, really would like to, but not sure on how car will be and if it'll be running well by then..

I've a load of stuff to sell on teh bay and if everything sells then its defo yes for me..

How long we got to get deposits in before the price goes up, also Rob, do you need a min number of cars??

The ferry deal should be OK till the end of Feb, may last longer but no guarantees. Min 5 cars if there are less than 5 of you going i would have to mix in some others cars into your trip. i don't think 5 should be to much of a problem theres plenty of members on here! Thing i also have to watch at the minute is the exchange rate between the Pound and the Euro its up and down more than a pro knickers at the minute!!!lol

Sorry chaps, its going to become a no for me this year, works thin and i cant justify it..
