I've 1 which came with the car.
If only I knew they would fetch such silly money I should of bought loads as one VW breakers I went to about 20 years ago had about 50 lined up on a shelf and was asking £5 each…. I missed out there 

I've got 5. 3 are in cars. One I've given to a friend and I cut the last one up.

Is this the rarest, most desirable steering wheel? Reason I'm asking is my local wrecker has 50 MK1's rusting away and countless parts from others he's scrapped over the years so he should have a few steering wheels. If I find something uber rare I wouldn't know.

I wouldn't say rare but they are one of the nicest wheels in my opinion. Snap them up an sell them for a good price(not £150 each) and you could make some good money and a lot of happy mk1 owners Are you in the uk?
