Her booty! Notice the 'swallowtail' :)

The least good side (I can't say bad side when talking about mk1's :)

Somebody pulled out the ariel and somebody started to bog it up…

The 'grand canyon' lol.

The only torn seat.

Only other thing is parcel shelf is missing but I'll probably make one. Very happy with her. :)

She runs a little rough but hopefully after a service she's smooth again.. :)

Glad to be behind the wheel of a classic again.

Look nice mate,
I had seen a similar colour car on one of the Aussie forums. It was a series 1 Golf 1.5 Diesel.

Hi Alek!
She looks good mate, I love the hand print on the rear window  :D I have been trying to think of a name, do you have any ideas? how about Daisy?
What are your plans with her?

That was my pat on the back, when she was being reversed out of her old home just before I got the keys.

I've come up with Alyssa after the cute little Alyssum Montanum flowers.

I plan to have her as a long term project car and for now as a daily just until I can afford to put her in a garage and pull her apart and rebuild sort of thing. I really like the 'euro hellaflush' look. But am also considering keeping her original and putting something considerably faster under the bonnet to make what we call here, a sleeper. (looks slow, but really flys)

Membership will be coming in a couple weeks as order of importance is as follows.
1: RAA roadside assistance (Just incase)
2: A good Service
3: Insurance
4: Membership :)

I'll be keeping you all up to date with how she's coming along. I've found somebody here to help me who also owns a yellow mk1 golf. :)

Cheers for all the support guys.

Just a quick question, The guy I bought the car off said I have to use Lead Replacement in the fuel. I read somewhere previously that all volkswagen engines after 1974? did not need leaded fuel… I am not sure if I should be adding it or not. I have also read that adding the lead replacement can not hurt a car that doesn't need it, but not adding when its needed can cause irreparable damage..

Cheers, Alek.

Ahh thanks heaps. I have been, up until this moment, have been running her on 98ron with lead replacement.
Just because I was told it doesn't hurt the engine if it doesn't need it.

I cannot wait to accumulate some coin to start getting her worked up into a really nice MK1.

The guy I bought it off is still getting messages and calls and people asking him to give them my number…

Really glad I was the first person to see her! :)
