White Cabby "Homes under the Hammer" E72 JAC Alfreton

quite a rare colour combination that one - might have actually seen that car new if it's stayed local all the time. when my Dad bought his Jetta TX in late 87 from The VW dealers in Alfreton, the exact same car sat in the showroom next to his.

belongs to a guy called john, who owns the VW specialist garage in somercotes.

It was he who bought the gaff they were exploring.

Looks like it has the interior for the Etienne Aigner model.
Hard to tell from that distance to be fair and as far as I know they didn't do it in white. 

Looks good though!  

I tried to buy a folded roof cover for mine from that model over two years ago and chickened out when it went over £250!

It's really hard to tell from that shot it's just the cover that got me thinking. 

Although as you say it could be one from the'Mix and Match' series.

Update - i phoned John Sherwin, spoke to the guy, nice chap… the car is not a GTI (so not a Quartet) it's a standard 1.6 he thinks he's the 3rd owner & has had the car for about 8/9 years…
it has done about 48k!!! barely used, said he's renewing the head gasket & then will be putting it up for sale next year…

The base colours on early cars were White, Paprika Red, Helious Blue and Saphire. roofs were white, red , dove grey and Navy.  Interiors were White, red, grey and Navy.  You could pretty much mix and match what you wanted, although if you wanted something strange -White car, red seats, blue roof for example you may have struggled.  All had the Scala (Snowflake) wheels with inserts colour coded red, white, blue to match bodywork, with black reserved for the Sapphire Cars.

The seats look perfect mate!
