Yes old mike,s car knowledge isnt half as good as he thinks it is, but ed isnt all bad ,hes responsible for things like road legal settees.

At the end of the day i still feel that episode was good.. :wink:

End of the day boys its all good publicity for the mk1 gti , if you do a search on you tube for the mk1 gti its one of the first things to come up. We should be proud that is among the classics.

Currently watching this episode on Disc Shed…… The first thing that struck me about the car when Mike was saying what was wrong, like the red on the grille missing, no alloys and the decal missing was…. Perhaps its not an original GTI and just a standard MKI that somebody had got halfway through upgrading and not finished.

They may well have reregistered as a GTI at a later date in the cars life, not imposible!

Just a thought.
