I've not done yet but to my mind it would make sense if they are left and right or passenger and drivers side.

I mean if you were to take the one you have in your hands and offer it up to the other side it would be completely wrong surely!  O_o

By the look of the one long the sill it looks like you need the full kit!

They only show one type 155853977 they don't mention left or right.

They have a different one for the front edge and it is left or right sided.

There is the Regular bead for the length of the rocker.

Here is the link that I have as it appears that VAGcat is down.

Yes it is a USA bot Cabriolets were all made in Germany, and the real difference is that I sit on the left to drive, the body is the same.  :)

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

I bought some of the side trim and was going to warm it up and try to bend it a little to fit the rear arch.
I've still not tried this yet.

What do you reckon on my last post? The part number matches to what you're saying and tgey say it requires 4 per car even when it says front left? Bit of a weird one!

Hi,  thought I'd show you the recently fitted beading on front and back arches.  Bought from heritage, although they say they don't stock beading for the front so I purchased 4 for the rear to see if they fitted.   20160523_165509.jpg 20160523_165449.jpg

I bought the full kit in black from Werk34. It isn't shaped  in a curve as you might expect for the arch section.

You literally get 2 longer lengths for the skirts and 4 smaller pieces of exactly the same stuff for the arches.

It appears its just formed rubber that is cut off a roll and then you're charged the earth for it  :ninja: Nothing special.

Was relatively easier to attach it, bit fiddly starting it off mind. Hope this helps.

Hi thanks for those pics I only need the rear but they don't stock it in white! So you bought 4 of the rear trim and it fitted all 4 corners? I'm convinced they must be identical but for my colour they just stock "front left" very puzzling!

Hi there, could you find me a link for this full set if possible please? I've never been able to find it! What I've found from removing the originals is that the skirt beading is genuinely made to perfectly fit one arch rather than cut from a length, and is a C shape to wrap around the lip of the side skirt, whereas on the arches its more of a flat edge like mark1gls was referring to, as the stuff is so expensive for what looks like bathroom grouting I only want to buy once!!

There is no difference in form/shape of the rubber in the stuff from werk34. Very much an aftermarket product but it does do the job and looks good.

Ahh okay the side skirt beading I've fitted is genuine vw and is different just to be awkward probably! Problem for me only needing the rear is their low order and postage costs make theirs far too dear for me

That's what I thought surely they'd be the same, so in my case get "left front arch" for all corners, thanks!

As I'm local to vw heritage I had a trip their this morning to double check they fitted even though they are listed for front left, they do infact fit all 4 as yours did! Glad to have it sorted now image.jpeg

Good to know.
Do the corner bits of trim look the same as the trim running along the sides of the car?
It hard to see on your picture above as its's white on white but your side trim looks different to mine, my one looks like the one fitted to the red car?

Hi, the arch trims are different to the sides as in the shape on the edge that sticks onto the skirt is much narrorer to fit between the arch & body, the tape is useless so had to stick them myself, does look good when the kits all back on image.jpeg
