Whats it worth?

Selling my 1.5 GL Mk1 golf 1982 engine 90kmiles.
Whats it worth?
Also have gearbox up for sale too.

Unsure on what price to ask for!

 

Tbh without upsetting people in my experience selling and buying engines like this is risky you can’t see it or hear it running it may turn but doesn’t mean there are problems. I have been cought out before. Same with gearbox after my personal experience I wouldn’t pay more than £100 for the engine and box together.

Others may have different opinions but this is mine

Going to second that I'm afraid,
Even if it was a DX it wouldn't be worth much more out of the car.

You may actually make more out of it if you break the engine down, selling the cylinder head and bottom end cranks separately

It runs well, I removed it from my car to swap for an ABF so no longer need it that's all. A guy wants the engine as it is and has asked for a price.

I've given away similar engines and box's for free, just to help people out. 

100 quid isn't unreasonable, if you feel you need some money from it. 👍🏼
