Seized lower ball joint pinch bolt

Post

Trying to change the lower ball joints on the front wishbone/hub today. Blooming pinch bolts are seized solid. Tried soaking in oil without any luck, so leaving it longer to soak. Is there an easy way to get them undone, or do I need to break them out and replace them? PXL_20230722_101230736.jpg

If you haven't already, 'Plusgas' never fails to impress and has worked for me when others haven't.

If you've access to an impact wrench it can also work wonders.

Thanks all for the replies, I'll get some Plusgas (hadn't heard of it before, sounds useful!) And will give it a go next week! Rain has stopped play, unfortunately

A good penetrant is 50/50 mix of Acetone and Automatic transmission fluid.

Spray it on with a Pump sprayer, both sides let it work, and re-spray…let work.  Then an electric impact or air impact should work.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
