Hello everyone I need some clarification from you knowledgeable chaps before I take this further. Below are pictures of the clutch pedal on my Mk1 Golf Cabriolet which had electric PS installed in 2021 (which I wish I'd never had fitted!) Hopefully you can see where the pivot pin has torn itself from the bracket and also note the 5 washers added by the installers to allow the pedal to clear the modified steering column.
Would anyone agree that rather than adding washers that cause leverage resulting in the damage (this setup has lasted less than 2000 miles) a proper modification to clear the new steering column should have been manufactured?
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
