advice needed Mk2 16v 256 calipers on mk1 hubs

I have some mk2 16v 256 calipers what is the easiest way to fit these to my existing mk1 hubs , will .g60 adapters work , with 280 discs and 16 v pads

You'll need the 256 carriers. They should fit the Mk1 hubs if you find the ones from the roco.

You'll then need 256mm discs from the 16v rocco as well.

or if they are lucas 54 calipers, and im not sure they are, then you will need some g60 carriers and can go 280mm discs with g60 pads I think..

for 256mm calipers you can use the scirocco16v and old square audi type carriers for a direct fit.

if you go for the 280mm adaptors then save yourself a load of hassle, sell those calipers and buy a full 280mm kit. the 256 calipers are narrower and wont fit over 280mm disc and pad combo, unless you fit part worn 256mm pads or grind down the slider pins.

you can fidn 280mm setup off pre-96 mk3 golf gti, 16v and vr6 so not hard or expensive to get.
