Oil pressure unit for VDO and clocks

Hi guys, quick quick question. I'm looking to connect up the VDO gauges for my Golf GTI, in order to get the clock and the VDO oil pressure to work, do I need to purchase this?

You need to purchase one of those for your oil pressure gaugebut you need to make sure you get one with the right thread and the right pressure for the gauge and oil light. If you have a 5 bar gauge then you need a 5 bar sender or the the gauge will read wrong. I bought mine from VW Heritage and while they're more expensive than eBay or other places they work well.

Okay thanks for the info! Mines a 10 bar - assuming it's a Porsche gauge ? I will try find the right unit on vw heritage 

check the pressure switch rating as well, need 0.24-0.3bar or 1.8bar. thread size you need M10x1 (or an M10x1 -> whatever thread on sender adaptor)
