Leaking driveshaft flanges

Last weekend I replaced the driveshaft flange seals on my 020 box as they were leaking quite badly.

I took the car out for a decent drive today and it turns out they are still leaking, is it possible that the flanges could be worn? The leak from both of them is no where near as bad as before but can see there is oil still flicking out where the flange and seal meet and its definitely more than just excess oil where I've put it back together.

The only thing I didn't use was the original C clips that come in the repair kit, I used some circlips that were maybe 2mm thinner but I cant see how that could make much difference with the seal leaking or not.
