number please

Hi Does anyone know the VW number for this pipe and where I can buy one?  - but without the jubilee clips. Inside is a hard moulded plastic pipe covered by a rubber sleeve.

Thanks IMG_4836.jpg

If you have both ends any firm that deals with hydraulics should be able to crimp them onto a new piece of hose.

I had a couple of hoses made up down here a few years back by a firm called 'Armada', I've forgotten the actual price but they were a lot less than VW.
Perhaps it's best not to let them know what it's for and they're now getting hard to find.
Cheers

I can remember years ago when I lost a brake hose on my 67 MG the hose was on back order at the dealer from the UK so I took my old hose to a Hydraulic shop and they made me a new one using old fittings and it was about 40 bucks. When it failed again it was about 10 bucks as the fittings where already made….I went about 1/2 inch shorter of a hose and it never failed.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thanks for your thoughts guys. In the end I went for a replacement. It seems that because mine is an early GTI the design changed. So if the new one lasts 38 years I'll not complain!! I'll keep the old one in stock and if I have any more issues certainly go for making one up.

Cheers for your help
