Idle high, wiper on

Post

Rev counter 1500rpm, wipers + washer switches on

High idle- checked all vac pipes, no leaks or air being sucked in, also timing adjusted and car pulls really well but no change when idle screw is turned all the way in ( engine does not stop ) if opened fully there is loud hissing but still no change in idle speed-replaced screw with good O ring…When distributor vac pipe is removed there is no change, seems like no suction from inlet manifold ….

Wipers and washer comes on while driving, after a bit of light tapping it turns off…stalk is fine
never had this problem before, only now after changed back to standard GTI wiring loom from g60 wiring..

needs mot this weekend 🙏

Sounds like a bad frame to engine/tranny and Battery to frame ground.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Just drove it now and had to stop over 5 times as the damn wipers and washers coming in and staying on..tap the relay as few times then it switched off
Not sure if Its just the relay or something else

Check the wiper relay, as it could of gotten wet, and is shorting out internally.

check the fuseboard for water damage also, if any is visible i would just replace it, once the water leak is fixed
