Engine Identification Help

Hi I've got myself a 1.8 engine, out from a 1987 Golf (apparently cabriolet) with cylinder head number 026103373G but the bottom end has Engine code DX. Would it be safe to say i have a 1.8 Gti block and is there any other checks i can do to see if i have the 112hp engine. Cheers

If the engine code stamped into the engine block is DX then yes it's a Gti engine block.

EX is carb engine.
