Settling In
I'm putting my mk1 back together after been off the road for about 4 years
Originally the car had the standard black bumper but we decided to put a clipper kit on the car, I got a genuine clipper kit of a doner car but my problem is now that it doesn't line up correctly on mine, there's well over an inch maybe close to an inch and a half of air gap between the bumper and the front panel is there any trick to get this to line up? the back is not perfect but I could live with it.
Thanks in advance

Did you take the bumper supports and re-bar as well as the bumper skins?

So the gap between the two panels should be around 4mm for the front bumper with everything else lining up neatly behind it.
A very good mate of mine had the kit fitted to his 1985 Cabrio without any real issues. 👍🏼

If you can post up a picture just to check but I recon you have it right as the front bumper lines up with the front wheel arches.
The gap is big so if you hit anything the bumper has room to move back.
