Post

Hi peeps quick question I have finished my build using the original dx gti radiator which was fine when I was using short trumpets on the carbs. I have now changed to the long trumpets for more drive ability and is now a little tight. Trumpets from carbs foul top radiator hose I am after a different radiator that will clear the carbs. So what has everyone used and what hoses cheers

This is what I'm using in my '79 LS, ABF with throttles. Double core all aluminium Honda racing radiator, had the same setup in one of my previous MK1's and it works well. I'm using a big oil cooler to aid with cooling when driving hard. I'm running 165mm ram tubes with this setup. You will have to relocate or modify the battery/bracket to make it work, I'm using a slim-line Hawker SBS40 battery that fits between the radiator and the inner wheel well. In my '83GT, also with throttle equipped ABF, I'm running a custom low level radiator with 3 x 7" fans. It still limits the length of the ram tubes though and I'm running 100mm tubes with this setup. I'm contemplating switching to the Honda setup in my GT as well.
