I'm happy to say that i'd inform the local police of this with no problems or hesitation. It's one thing to drive without tax for a day or so but to drive fully illegally and like a kn0b is another thing all together - he's an accident waiting to happen! and he's probably one of those guys who'd hit someone or something and just give it Linfords! Car may not even be in his name?!

i'd wait a bit first , maybe he is full of cack and just lying to you about not having insurance …….if you grass him up now then he will know straight away who reported him , and don't forget you and your family live across the road …….casualy tell a few of your neighbours ….world will spread and i'm sure somebody will report him …..a bit crafty but it shifts the blame from you ……

yh and then if its only him his told then he will know how the nieghbours know

yep , but he's only told neighbours in passing…..not  reported to police , easy for us to say grass him up , but it's not our family living close by ,  not saying the guy his right , but hopefully he will get caught out eventually ……

well…i'm kinda with mk1jim.but you already know for sure he has no tax or mot, so i'd discretely spread the word amongst your neighbours, then dob him in in a weeks time or so.

Well i will put my head above the parapit and say NO WAY WOULD I GRASS, i might try to talk him into getting the car legit by saying all of the reasons above but the day i pick up the phone and speak to the old bill will NEVER happen.

Sorry cant be doing with them im sure there are a nice element in the Police Force but i have yet to meet a copper who is, maybe im bias though having spent a few years in Jail for various things, in the world i used to live grasses are on the same level as pedos.

And before people bleet on about what if this and what if that im not intrested i would never GRASS and if one of those things were to happen i would quite openly do a a Tony Martin as being in nick i can tell you first hand its a good laugh once you get over the intial shock.

thats great advertisement for jail i think most people relise being banged up ain't a problem,
bring back the ball and chain and quarry dutys if you ask me

becuase lets face it, if the punisment ain't bad then what lesson have you learnt other then the intial shock was not to good

but to say something like the world i used to live in

2. how the hell can anyone unless full of drugs and unaware off what sense there words are making,
come out with that line when lets face it who done the crime

3. thats just typical of a non law living person to belive in such crap to start with they have to brand decent people as low lives just feel better about there selfs

No War mate as i really could not care what you or others think why would i we are after all talking on a internet forum and i dont kow you from Adam ( pardon the pun )

Nick IS easy mate and i agree 100% that it should be more of a punishment but it isnt and nor will it ever be. My "bad" days are behind me now and were all drug/violence related i have been a "good boy" for 16 years now and been "clean" 15 years but that was my life and i still 100% would NEVER grass on anyone if someone did something terrible to me or my family/friends i know if they went to court and got sentenced after the intial shock its a walk in the park,The only expeption to this is if your a nonce and then you get put on the numbers anyway so you would be with likeminded people.

I would much much prefer to dish out a bit of justice on my own at least i know they would actually pay in some way other than having some time taken away from them.

Like i say i dont take offence to anything written as we all have different views on things after all it would be very boring if we all thought the same !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well glad it did not rock the boat i half understand about people not liking grasses hell i'm not to keen on them myself becuase they tend to grass on the smallest of things you know doing 31 in 30 zone, parking on doubles yellows for 5 mins or as someone else pointed out driving with out tax for a couple of days before they go post office etc etc

but seroius things like driving with out the correct paper work to start with effects all drivers everywhere when it goes wrong

uninsured loss has to be re gained somewhere and it don't come from the money people get charged for speeding, belt fines etc etc, there for my policy your pollicy goes threw the roof all becuase some idiot thinks its ok to carry on how they wont

Believe me if i uninsured driver smashed my car he would pay one way or another for that you can be sure of.

Like i said in orginal post i would have a word with the person to try to convince him to go legit.
