Looks a great day and some really nice cars. Really like the Alpine White MK I on ATS Cups  :)

Hopefully by the end of the summer it will be back from the bodyshop and I can crack on and get involved with more shows etc.

Looks much better than when it was in it's rally clothes. Isn't it one of the Oldest remaining GTI's in the world or am I talking tosh??

cars look fantastic so gutted i could'nt make it, never seen that swallowtail befor any ideas who it belongs to???

Hi all
Went down today What a nice day.
Sorry I missed you guys but every thing was so spread out we walked around all day and still did nt see half of it

Bought another mk1 :D  :D   :D
The red one with the 16v conversion
Amoment of madness never mind the wife was next to me egging me on  :? I have a feeling its going to cost me more than just the car  :dontknow:

It's not a genuine swallowtail, its just had the panel welded in. The car used to be a Diamond Silver '76 model.

Nope, the car used to be at shows 1-2 years ago in its original state.

It is a beautiful early example, never seen one that old before.  8O

Wouldn't mind seeing a few more pictures of that car!

Incidentally, is that an early version of the GTI badge?

I think that's a "prototype" badge. I've seen pictures of it in some of my older mk1 books. Trust Rajan to find one!
