My Mk1 cabrio BEFORE & AFTER!!!!!!

Thought it was about time i should join in and post some pictures of my MK1!! …. (sorry about the quality of some of the pictures!!)

2 years ago when i bought it!!!


not so tidy… and a very dodgy roof!!!!

But this is why i bought it…. after alot of hard work….


and some new wheels…




and with some hard work and some material….. (made myself!!!!! as you can probably tell???)

looks like a shiny penny now.It didnt look like that at meet fair play bet you spent hours polishing it didnt you..see you on sat....ps not too much food as not many travelling due to other commitments..jim

Hi there, i know i have had alot of mixed comments about the cabrio decal on the side!!!! most who have seen it have said how good it looked!! I just wanted something a little different ….

It's a bit like Marmite …. You either Love it or Hate it!!!!!

I really must say the decals on the side spoil the car for me! Lets not take anything away from your efforts though, the car looks very nice. I just think you will be seen by other drivers in the same way as maybe a fiesta with a huge "turbo" sticker down each side, or one of these baseball cap wearing corsa boys with a big bore exaust and "corsa" in huge letters on it! Can you see what I mean? The sticker might be beautifully made and applied with expert precision, but is out of keeping with the rest of the car and for me detracts from your hard work!  :doh:

Just a couple of points in reply:

1.  A baseball cap would flatten my hair!!!

2. I do NOT have a big bore exhaust!!! — and don't want one!!!

3. I am NOT a girl racer!!!! — I have grown out of that one!!!

It seems that other Females love it and Men don't!!!

I AM IN NEED OF SOME GIRLS OPINION'S HERE!!!! (please don't prove me wrong!!!)

overall I think you've done a great job there! each Mk1 has it's own look and character and if it's the way you like it  :y: that's the main thing

as others I personally am not a big fan of decal's of any sort (other than the club sticker  :wink: ) but it's only stickers at the end of the day  :wink:

I like it …… a lot!
As for the graphics - each to their own. Your car = Your choice!  

 & its good to see that hard work pays off in the end.

I stand by what I said but at the end of the day all that matters is that you (Jocy) love it and you clearly do - If we were all the same and every body drove a standard mk1 golf the world would be a boring place, I like the fact corsas look stupid with big exhausts, blacked out window and please steel my KENWOOD sticker in the window, they make my car look great  8)
