Mk1 Golf gearbox help please.....

Post

My girlfriend has a Mk1 Golf Cabby, her gearbox is making an awful clunking noise which has been tracked down to a work/split rubber in the gearbox linkage.

I have circled the offending bit in the picture below:

Specifically it's the bush/rubber at the top of that bracket.

Problem is, I can't seem to find one on eBay or anywhere else, does it go by a different name, if so what? Also, is it possible to buy just the rubber at the top, or are we better of just buying the whole bracket?

Thanks in advance

Thanks, I've seen those but not sure if the kit comes with the bush/rubber I need.

They do - its the larger white/clear ones which go here. I know there's more than 2 variations of kit, but basically there's 2:

bushes
bushes and rods

I find if you really want your gearchange sorted, then if the bushes have worn so have the plastic ball ends on the rods - so its worth getting the rods too.
