The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

The season when Lewis Hamilton won the championship was my proudest achievement as i made everything he was touching as he crossed the finish line(steering wheel, clutch and gear shift paddles, throttle and brake pedals, seat and head rest).
My mk1 has cut offs from the 4 chamionship winning cars all over it my favourite piece bieng the first bit i made. a VW badge for the centre of my steering wheel. it was made from the centre of the mould that we made Jenson Buttons Honda/Braun GP steering wheel. It still has the mould No. laminated accross the back! irreplacable;
even though this is a cool job and it pays well, i still prefer stonemasonry. it takes alot more skill and my work lasts hundreds of years rather than a few races. you get a great feeling of achievement when you have finished a piece. here is some of my work;
(both carved by hand to within a tollerence of .25mm. the industry standard is 1mm but bieng trained in f1 composites first, old habbits die hard. lol)
I am very lucky to have skills in 2 proffesions that will always have work. i never went to uni. i am all in favour of apprenticeships. my friends at school said i was a drop out for leaving at 16 to work at burger king. i was a manager by 17!. i think im doing ok. And my golf gets to see the benifits! my life would be boring without it.

i am a stonemason but currently working as a trimmer/fitter for a small but very respected composite comany. I make carbon fibre components for various F1 teams such as Red Bull, Mercedes GP, Renault, Mclaren, Virgin, Force India and Torro Rosso. My claim to fame is that in the 5 years i've done this job i have worked on 4 F1 world championship winnig cars and 1 le mans 24hr race winning car.
