Anybody else out there not into football at all...?

It's like being a pork chop in the synagogue around here at the moment. Five weeks of this I've got to put up with. Nobody is doing any work, everyone is coming back from the pub (those that bother) half out of their heads.

I said I hope we loose early on so we can get it all over with and was accused of being unpatriotic. (Well, I'm not english anyway  ) I watched the eurovision song contest, what more do they want?

And if someone says Metatarsil to me one more time I'll hit them. We're not going to win are we? I mean, as if.

I just don't get football, at all. Full stop. Period. Hopefully the roads will be empty for my Mk1 and I!

Rant over.

Cheers,

Drew.

I'm with you Drew, pointless game if you ask me. Over paid and under worked, and a bunch of softies too 'he pushed me over cry cry'

Why would anyone want to watch a bunch of men running around in shorts and t-shirt for an hour and a half anyway? Surely you need to question your sexuality if you enjoy watching them!

try living in Scotland Drew!

It is the top story on the news every night, and all the newspapers follow it, saying how the whole nation is behind them.

well excuse me BBC, but i seem to remember that the first 'B' stood for British, and I also remember that Britian was not just Engand!  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

They've dedicated an entire room in our workplace to be a "World Cup Room" with large screen TV, 4x Playstations, table football, pool table, free snacks, etc. Also they have installed ceiling mounted TFT TVs all around the call centre areas and are streaming all the matches onto them. And relaxed the dress code so people can wear football shirts of their favourite team, on the day of the matches.

So maybe this time round, there won't be so many people "off sick" on match days.

I'm not that bothered with it all, I'll keep track of what the England matches' scores are, so I know what people are talking about the next day.

I'll be looking forwards to the street being quiet, so I can crack on with work on the car!

Aw I'll definately be watching it - at home though, Im not into the pub madness when matches are on.

We will all be in our england shirts (i only wear mine during matches so im not that sad) and drinking from st georges pint glasses.

I think its great that we can all be a bit patriotic for a few weeks instead of moaning about how poor we are at everything.

I am realistic though and preparing myself for the inevitable dissappointment! After england are out, the world cup can go whistle and it'll really annoy me that its still on, messing up all the usual tv.

Why does Top Gear always get stopped whenever there is a sporting event on, why not stop some off the other sunday drivle instead.

Heh! I thought about starting the same thread! I was thinking about a poll to find out who will be working on/driving their golfs and who will be watching the footy.

Despite the fact I'm not into football, I actually went to watch one of the England qualifiers at Old Trafford earlier in the year, only because it was part of a lad?s weekend out. I thought actually seeing a match live might get me into footy more but it had the opposite effect! I really can't see what all the fuss is about AT ALL!!!

At work its been decided not to use the plasmas for viewing it luckily. I've also got the next two weeks off work to escape from it all and hibernate under my cars.

I can't stand the sight of the english flag anymore, sometimes I think its almost achieved chav status IMO!!!  8O  Thats down to a small minority though.

Saw the funniest thing today… A Nova with a taped on cross on the bonnet, I think it was actually holding the bonnet scoop on

I'm not a footy fan but like to watch England and hope they do well. What annoys me (apart from Top Gear being cancelled!) is you can guarantee that half way through our campaign, (no pun intended!) no matter how well or bad we're doing, the press will do all they can to bring the team down - happens every time!! 8O

Why can't they just support the team, period? :dontknow:

Sorry guys - COME ON ENGLAND :D

Well, until we meet germany in the first knock out stage and then it'll be all over!

Jobs for tomorrow:

Shopping for a 5 year-olds birthday present.
Wash, polish and wax the golf.
Think about fitting the multichanger.
Watch the match with my very good friends Stella (from Belgium) and Magners (from Ireland)…

I do like to follow england and i hope they do well, just so we can be the world champs at rugby and football at the same time!
Yeh australia, have some of that!

The only thing about england in world cups etc, is the part time patriotic chavs with the flags hanging off their cars! i think that if youre gunna be patriotic then youve gotta be patriotic full time and not once every couple of years!

and i am gutted about Top Gear too.
But what about Neighbours!!!!!!!!!!!??!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?
