if you used 2x T pieces you could do similar but loop it to the end of the metal hose on the matrix return pipe if that makes sense

vw heritage may be producing them soon, alrternativley mk3 golf ones are similar i used an early 2.0 8v one. you'll need a few rubber hoses off the donor
I'd hang on if I knew they'd be available from VW Heritage in the not too distant future, but I already tried two of their 8V pipes that I had hoped would work but they dont!!
Like you said I could "make them work" but I just bought a brand new set of 16V Samco hoses so I want to use them if possible instead of using a mix of them and standard hoses, so I my first preference would be to find the right metal pipe to suit them and keep it all factory looking!!

also there are 2 types im not sure which one they will be doing. the early one is perfect for a mk1 as it has the heater matrix bypass hose on it, but you also need the early metal sife flange and the hose.
on mine I used a mk3 automatic T piece and various rubber to replicate it
Is there any benefit in bypassing the heater matrix??
BTW your pix dont seem to show up here for me!!

The reason for it is that on aMK1 chassis the heater when off is closed off completly with a valve, which prevents coolant passing thru it. since the inlet for it comes from the side of the engien this would also stop coolant circulating as well thru the head, so VW insert a bypass pipe into the system so it can still flow. The early KR all have this as it was designed to drop into a scirocco, and VW couldnt be bothered to delete it when it went into the mk2 golf which doesnt need it
later KR delete this bypass and so the metal pipe is missing the extra outlet for it as is the side flange.
If you're at work it may be your proxies are stopping the redirect from my web host to the google images site, its nothing exciting just shows how I ran my matrix bypass via a T piece on the hose to the matrix valve to the metal pipe rather than from the side flange as I didnt have an early one
