S1 radio or faceplate surround

In the feint hope that somebody may have one or either of these items lying around waiting for a home.
In truth, the radio is easy to get, but it's the plain Black surround for the S1 GTI that's proving very difficult to find.

Yeah, he had one for me at AGM last year, but forgot who he was selling it to, and let it go before I got to it. I know he had a box of old radios, but none that were left were suitable.

£22.50 firm, which includes 2nd class signed for postage to a standard UK address.

I can't tell from the photos whether it's the correct grain/pattern in the plastic. I tried to pm you, but there's no option?? Send me a pm, and I'll give you my email, so you can send higher resolution pics please. I know some of the free hosting sites degrade photos when you load them up.

Upped the resolution but it's a crappy camera… If you click on the photo below it'll open in a new tab in photobucket.

Once there, click on the magnifying class icon (bottom right of image) and it'll open into yet another pane.

Click on the next, new magnifying glass icon and it should explode the image to super size.

 

Can you give me some measurements please. It's not a match for the pattern in the plastic, but lets see whether its a snug fit.

Measured by eye using a steel ruler, take this into account.

Faceplate at widest points, (remember it's radiused at the corners)

1 mm aluminium construction, not plastic.

L - 190 mm
H - 58 mm
D - 3 mm

Aperture -

L - 116 mm
H - 42 mm

Thanks very much for the offer, and it would fit fine, but I'll decline and hold out for the correct patterned one. I'm afraid the details only niggle me if they're wrong.

Bacardincoke, need to ask a few questions.
Does that fit in a regular sized facia hole?
Ive got an old blaupunkt radio out of a beetle, so the sizing is too small for a regular din sized hole.
If this fits i could probably modify this to work

Dan - Test fitted it to a loose S2 panel, as you can see below. The faceplate itself came from a similar vintage / style of Blaupunkt Hamburg to the one pictured…
