Please help. Gear linkage housing/boot thingy

I am desperate for a part I don't know the name of (part 7 and 8 on drawing). It the housing directly under the gearstick and mine is buckled from hitting a fox on the motorway. Looks like there should be a cap on it as well.
Moving to Sweden in a fortnight and need it finished before the car goes into storage. Would it be alright to run without it for a while? Thanks very much for any help guys. Stoopid foxes
