MK1 VW Golf Clipper Cabriolet 1989. Helios Blue. 1.8l MOT until June 2017 Here is my much loved MK1 Golf Clipper, first registered in 1989. It's the 1.8, 8v engine that I have converted to a Weber carb which starts first time, every time and runs superbly. I have stacks of history for the car, including the original service book. It has never failed an MOT(it's only actually had 1 advisory!) in the time I have owned the car I have just had the cambelt replaced in July this year. The car has a stainless steel exhaust which sounds fantastic but not silly-loud. It is on adjustable coil-overs; has a front lower strut brace; 16v brake servo and master cylinder and drilled and grooved discs; short shift gear linkage; lots of new engine parts including: fuel pump, fuel filters, fuel lines, fuel vapour separator, fuel tank sender, distributor cap, ht-leads, Weber carburettor and flange, battery, water pump. It has its original interior, although there is some wear to the driver’s seat bolster and a couple of small holes in the rear seat. The roof is in good condition with no tears etc, although there are small signs of wear where it folds when put back. The car is on Ronal wheels which look great on the car but all 4 of these could do with a refurb. The paintwork is in mostly very good condition although there are a couple of areas to mention. There are small rust patches on each door, close to the hinge. These haven't seemed to get any bigger in the time I've owned the car, as it's been kept garaged for the winter months. Also, the driver’s door seems to have developed some kind of paint "rash". I'm not sure the cause of this and it is only noticeable up close.
