Description:

Selling my Golf. Bought it, worked on it but now selling it as can't finish it. This car will need to be towed away on collection as it doesn't run. It ran when I bought it a year ago, but hasn't been started up in about six months. Flat battery, tyres gone down a bit, the usual problems from it being sat there for a while. It has been sat in my garage from the day I bought it, so has not been exposed to the elements. It is a two door manual, with four seats and a 1.8litre petrol engine. Here's what I have done to the car so far: Stripped out the seats front and back. The drivers seat has been completely taken apart, seat material taken off, the frame sprayed black and I have bought new seat tilt handles, seat tilt cables, reclining knobs, springs, squab diaphragm, seat guides and hinge covers. I have also bought new lower seat foams and middle back rest foams as the old ones were just shredded. I even sourced the material that I wanted. I did all of this with the intention of getting them re-upholstered and making them look brand spanking new. All of these parts will be included in the sale of the car. The radio has been removed (with the intention of putting a new one in) but will come with the car. I bought a new set of chrome dash vents that haven't been installed yet. The old parcel shelf was badly warped and rotted, so I am in the process of making a new one. It is all measured up; it just need to be cut out and then either painted or re-upholstered. The carpet has been stripped out. I do still have it if you would like it. The door cards and door speakers have also been removed (again with the intention of replacing them to match the newly up-holstered seats and carpet that I was going to get done). These will be included in the sale of the car. The hood is in bad need of replacement. It leaks, as the tensioning cables have cut through the hood. It does still fold up and down as it is a manual roof but the rear window frame might need replacing as well as it has rusted. I have been told that when the hood gets done they will be able to tell you if the rear seal needs replacing as well. There is some damage to the bodywork on the near side of the car. (As can be seen in the pictures) There is a scratch on the near side rear quarter panel and near side, side skirt. This car has been kept in a garage so it has not rusted or been damaged by the weather. The clock on the dash has started to break (as can be seen by the picture). You can still tell the time, but part of the numbers are missing. I have no idea why this has happened, I guess its just because the car is old. When I bought the car and drove it home, I noticed the clutch was slipping. Like I said it was driveable, but the clutch will need addressing at some time in the future. The scuttle plate that sits under the bonnet and hides the wiper motor is missing and will need to be replaced. The near side mirror was not an original mirror when I bought it and because of this the manual adjuster on it does not work. I have taken it off the car (with the intention of buying a shiny new chrome set) but it will be included in the sale. The car has no MOT or tax, but does have the log book and service schedule with a partial service history. All of the parts that I have bought that were mentioned above will be included in the sale of the car. As you can see, I have done a bit of work on this car and bought a few parts, but I am in over my head with this project and will not be able to see it through to the end. If anyone is looking for this kind of car to do up and have the car how they want it, most of the work has been done for you; you just gotta finish it off. I have tried to be as honest as I can with the issues with the car and what needs to be done. If your interested please contact me. Thankyou
