What did you do to your Mk1 Golf Today ?

Only a week before i fly back to work but i am happy with what i have got sorted on the car this time.

Well today i bought a mk1 gti! Rolling shell. gonna be a tracker car. excited

Swapped out the trunk lid with the CHNBL for an earlier model…  much smoother look and the paint is almost a perfect match

Added some more $5 swap meet finds….  Wood Momo and Chrome door pull surrounds

Cleaned yuppie and bit of polish .removed wedding ticker tape.
Emailed werks34 regarding parts for snowy…when/where are my seals…?😔
Took mk4 out for spin.. edging towards 24000miles. But slowly…changed interior light bulb unit, pulled wheel caps for refurb. Took wife out in car..she wants to drive mk4 but not any of my cabbies or mk2 myvalver…..women🤔

Well after feeling a really strange knocking coming from the near side front decided to investigate and discovered loose wheel nuts strange thing is not touched it since before the AGM. Anyhow cheap fix. To feel like I did something I cut the roof lining and fitted a new interior light.

Today woke up at 630am…drove to Mr chortles..onwards to crazyquiffs to pick up caster…finally arrived home 1830 after best part of 400miles driving. Did 150 miles in caster..thats a road test. Lol.
Chortle maybe  after my mint mk4….😉

Today's tasks… fit beige mats…only had 3 yrs…
Fit wind deflector.to caster..thanks Hugh.
Rattle tin some 15" bbs Ras  and get quote for 4 tyres £48 per corner…185 x 50 x R15
Fix noisy bathroom taps.
Wash sportline with some nice cleaner.
Make a gap between cars on road to take caster out for run…..fail….warmed him up only…

Got my new sneakers from gerts tyres retford. Nothing special since car is not supercar or bhp monster.  So will be removing my bbs ra from sportline and fitting.polished lips and rattle tin centres bbs ra.for " yuppie bling" look.


K fitted…

blasted and fitted Audi A3 Brake calipers and G60 Discs, Pads need a bit of a shave but the calipers were only £25   Just need paint them and order new hoses

re-blasted my brake caliper as it started to go rusty again after the first blasting, so this time I painted it straight away. Plan is to get the first coat on the second one tomorrow and then couple more coats on both by the weekend ready for fitting.

Nothing as fancy as fitting anything today.. but I did take caster out for fast drive.. on the A1… roof down.. heater on..spotify on…

But you are right some of my fondest memories of my youth are tied to popular songs on the Radio and the top off.

Few weeks ago I rebuilt my turbo with a hybrid core an yesterday took it back to emerald for a recheck an fine tune of the maps didn't expect any more power as the injectors where maxed at 270bhp with 25psi was going to change them but plan on doing some more things over winter an will need a full remap and no point remapping it twice .  got 290 with 18psi and 240 at 8psi he said with new injectors it will make 330+ well happy

Hahahaa…. No, they are 7" LED headlights for a Jeep… DOT approved  legal for the road… And insanely bright… Guy I bought them from was done for drink/drive… sold his jeep before He even installed them… $299 on the box… Scored them for $80
