I had those on my 81 Diesel.  I painted them 5 coats of satin black poly urethane, then 2 coats Satin clear and placed a set of mini-moon vw caps… looked great.

Becoming a cliche, but quite often it's true as far as MK1 Golf bits go… Try eBay.de or it's sister site ebay-kleinanzeigen.de

Make sure to adjust your own eBay search settings to cover Germany only.

I've found quite a few German sellers don't list items as shipping internationally and they won't show up in your search as a result if you're using a non German eBay site.

I've also found that 99% of them will readily agree to post internationally if you ask and that they almost always speak excellent English.

I'd image sending to Portugal may be even more convenient as there'd be no currency conversions etc.

The kleinanzeigen site is on a par with our buy and sell Gumtree so treat with caution, though again I've never had a problem.

You'll also see that a lot of sellers use both sites, so if you find it on kleinanzeigen you may well also find it on eBay.de which obviously has more safeguards for the buyer.

Use Google translate to get the German language wording for whatever you're looking for and search with that.

For example steel wheels is Stahlfegen or Stahl Räder.

Germans don't seem to use the term MK1 like we do, they instead favour Golf 1.

Again use that when searching… If it's GTI specific parts add Pirelli to the search, that seems to crop up quite often as a reference.
