Trying to locate Paul with the Aussie Swallowtail in UK

Post

Sold this a few years back  and this is a picture I received from Paul the new owner after he had done some work on the car.  I've lost his email address and wondered if anyone on here knows him so they can ask him to get in contact as have the information he was after.  Many thanks

Why did you ship a 4 door to England when we have so many 2 doors here in Australia?

Cheers

Paul (the other Aussie one)

  • 1978 MK1 GL 2 door with 2.0 16v ABF, twin 40's, Recaros, lots of suspension mods. I'll get it back on the road one day.
  • 1991 MK2 GTI 4 door. Was my daily doing over 1000 ks a week until it hit a truck. RIP. Got another one now and loving it!
  • 1991 MK2 GTI 4 door for parts.
  • 1998 Seat Cupra + another used as a donor for the MK1
  • 1999 Passat Wagon. Needs street cred but at least it's a manual.

At the time of looking this was the only decent one that came up.

I'm hoping to try and bring another one over (3 door) unfortunately i missed out on this one before my friend in Melbourne could contact the seller.  I have to sort out a container this year as  have a load of series 1 parts which have been sat in Sydney for about 18+ months waiting to come over.

I know of two 2 door MK1 Swallowtails that are for sale near me. Both have very little rust and are complete Aussie built GL models. They need a lot of work but something to consider at $1500 each.

Clarksmk1 - I think i may have bought a set of s1 gti alloys of you many moons ago. probably about 4 years now…. came and picked it up from your house. Think you were clearing out your shed!

I've seen QPauly's swallow at a few Berkshire meets, bloody fantastic car, he bought it off you in parts if i remember correctly?

I would be very interested in bringing a swallow over from aus, i've no idea what costs are like for that but if you come across something, let me know. would look good next to my 79 LD. :)

Cheers
