Please forgive me, as I've been out of the game for quite a while,  but I'm looking to buy a '79 4 speed GTI.

What are the prices these days, for:

Resto, average condition and mint condition?

One that needed work sold on ebay this week just under 9k not sure if it was a 79 4 speed or a 5 speed.
