question I have what do the do? And on a do and on a mk1 caddy how do you fit them … I.e the pipes do they just come off the rocker cover?

What do they do?
They collect scavenge oil so it isn't burn in the engine.
One Pipe off the Valve cover, and the other goes back to the intake port on the Throttle body.

You fit them however you like.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

If you have a Diesel that is blowing excessive oil to the intake, where the engine will run-away, yes.  This is more common on older high mileage Diesels, than gassers.

If you have a 16V or the like, and turbo'ed and have excessive blowbyfouling the engine, yes.

If you have a properly running engine, and it isn't blowing  oil or causing the cars behind you to be enveloped in a fog, no.

If you like the look, and want to be "Cool?" do what you want it is your car, and you are the only one you have to answer to……
