mk1 golf window seals

hi, I have recently bought a mk1 golf gti, it was been letting in water into the car. I was told it was coming in through the windscreen, as the black covers that go over the pillars were pushing the seal up. I was told that they are aftermarket parts and the gtis don't come with them. could somebody please tell me if they are original or not and if they are how are they meant to be attached? thanks !!

MK1 tintop gti,s do indeed come with the black plastic trims as standard. Forget how they attach.

yeah I thought so! thanks ! I don't think its meant to just sit underneath the window seal tho because that's all they are held on by !

Yes there is a lip that pops under the windscreen seal and there's some sticky pads too that help it stick to the A-Pillar
